As you all know, I'm a pretty big technology nut. I like to follow the trends and look at all the new gadgets coming out, or have come out. One in particular is the
Apple iPad.
Now the iPad caught my attention, along with everyone else's, when it was just a rumor. Now that it's been released, and people are using them, we can only assume that there will be many different apps that are going to blow peoples minds and "change the game" when it comes to computing.
Enter the iPad DJ.
I was browsing the
Serato Forums, checking in on my DJ software for updates, new features etc. and I found this....
It's called
iPad Mixr. No I didn't spell it wrong, even though I have the little red lines under "Mixr".
I've had the chance to use the iPad and I have to say that the touch screen is incredible, and spot on with finger movements and gestures. I'm hoping the software is as accurate as the iPad itself, so I'm patiently waiting for some
YouTube videos on this app.
The website for the
iPad Mixr has great info about the product. I mean, it's your basic two "turntable" mixer setup, with a few effects processors, but nothing over the top. I'm not in a position to give an in depth review on it, but definitely check the site to see all the features. I have to give props to the development team on this app for jumping all over the opportunity to get this in peoples faces.
Replacement for DJ gear, not quite. Game changer, well I'd say it has me thinking about quite a few ways to incorporate a touch screen into my setup.
And I thought my
NS7 was cool...........
(it still is pretty cool)
